like zim said you need to have task sched, active if you've not got task schedule activated then it wont work it will give you an error something like.

cannot find any list in entry try again

it works fine for most if not all versions of windows i know as i do it daily on customers pc's who's lost their passwords.

and being who i am, i need to know this stuff :)

just infect everyone with an obscure passworded trojan.

fix their stuff by remote.. since most trojans give you more control than even the admin account has... :lol:

Note, when you wipe your password then all encrypted files (if you have any) will not be available.

it's very simple use an exploit in MS istself.

<snip cool exploit>

Oh very nice. I had heard that one before but had forgotten, since I always disable the Task Scheduler. However, just tried it on my workplace's computer and it worked. They've got them buttoned down tighter than hell otherwise, but this just bypassed it completely :pirate: Not going to do anything drastic - I like my job - but very funny :lookup:

You can use Windows Password recovery system.

Here are 5 of these tools:

1. SpotMau Password Finder - Simple startup utility resets a forgotten admin or users' password using a familiar Windows-like program interface instead of command-line.

2. Windows Key - Top rated version of Passware's Windows Key app, supports Windows Vista and RAID/SCSI/SATA drives.

3. Petter Nordahl-Hagen's Offline NT Password & Registry Editor - A great boot CD/Floppy that can reset the local administrator's password.

4. Openwall's John the Ripper - Good boot floppy with cracking capabilities.

5. EBCD Emergency Boot CD - Bootable CD, intended for system recovery in the case of software or hardware faults.

For more details read the article below:

I've used OPHCrack when people have forgotten their passwords, or messed up.
Burn an ISO, chuck it in at boot and watch your passwords appear. Free too :)
