Quiet Server (Case and fan)

Postby Psycho Ced » Wed Jan 13, 2010 10:36 am

I was looking to build a quiet server, Was thinking of using dual E5520 cpu's or E5502.
Main, thing I was looking for help on was if anyone had an idea of good case and fan cpu fans for either processors that would allow for sufficient cooling while keeping noise to a minimum. Thanks for any help guys.

What are you using it for? 2 CPU's on a server mobo is an expensive option and possibly unnecessary. Using a higher end i7 or their server equivilant will likely be better, with easier upgrade and maintenance.

Ok, thanks FB, I'll need to find out the specifics then. At the moment, I was looking into a more generic solution.

Looks like you're right FB, a full out Xeon server is not what they're looking for. Thanks a lot.
