Installing Vista

Postby darthlinux » Wed Feb 18, 2009 6:30 am

I have a 500gb sata II HD which is made by Samsung and a 250gb sata II HD made by WD but I can't installed Vista, the install will get to expanding file and go really slow and will take around 14hrs to do this and then get towards the end of the installation and freeze and then the install will fail, I have checked all my hardware is Vista compatable, I have 3gb ram and I was wondering if anyone has any ideas whats wrong I have tryed the original CD and I have also downloaded a copy and burn to a DVD at the lowest speed I can and still I am stumped.

Any Ideas would be great

May be you needed to write your Dvd at the higest speed. If you don't know at what speed to write dvd, please write your DVD at speed given on that particular DVD.
By d way,you also didn't define whether you have laptop or desktop.

1)If it is desktop, there must be some confliction with your Hard-drives. In this case, all you have to do is, just change the Master and Slave setting.
2)if it is laptop, you need to change BIOS setting if you've installed XP before. For BIOS setting you'll have to consult some one.
