KLR actually died

Postby REDJ » Mon Aug 02, 2004 11:27 pm

Because of many lies that had been broughten up by former KLR Leader Ricky_1146, the KLR program immediately halted on August 2nd, 2004.

I have made a new forum to continue it. The admins at FSP think it is dead, so they do not want to comtinue developing there. If you would still like updates, news on development, etc. You can reach the new official forum here:

Wow, that's quite interesting. I didn't think that ricky would go so far as to terminate the project.

While KLR is a good idea, I still say FastTrack needs some dire help to stay alive. If you are thinking of making a FastTrack2, then all the power to you. However, like I said in your forums, if KLR continues to operate on that joke of a network, it will inevitably fail.

PS: REDJ, I sent you a PM on this board, because I wasn't sure if you still visited FSP.

Fast Track 2. There are several networks which already seem as if they are Fast Track only with different names. openFT and Ares are probably the closest networks that run like Fast Track.

migration....

Postby moculon » Sat Aug 07, 2004 12:10 pm

i think the only way a real 'fasttrack 2' would work is if sharman migrated all the existing users onto a new protocol gradually. they seem to have no intention of doing so, most of the quality users seem to have drifted to ares as you now get awesome mp3 search results and good quality files on ares. and the big file shares love ed2k for it's huge selection.

Hi REDJ.

I think you might want to update that post.

KLR isn't dead, its developmet has kinda stalled at version 0077. But its official site is still http://www.fileshareingplace.com

KLR actually died

Postby SlyckChuck » Sun Aug 22, 2004 3:17 pm

I actually looked into this app last night and found that what was shared was by single people, not groups. Same thing with shareholders app. Yes kazaa and the lite versions has the most people but what is the use of downloading from a single person when other apps will let you do the same from multiple users.

Moreover with the industry using fasttrack as their lawsuit hunting grounds most here have already jumped off sharman type applications long ago like rats off a sinking ship!!

I know you are kidding red, the comparison is not to us as rats. the comparison is the action that rats take when they know the ship is sinking and how the majority of us so quickly ditched that type of application!

U-O that is also such a true statement, it is sad!!

things are moving on better, quite a while ago there was a thread, the dude/gal made 10 points why FT is bad and s/he used a lot of smiles. recently was created a thread chosing alternatives.

BTW i_s you assumed correctly i was joking.

But, most people who will read those type of threads already have left FastTrack since they are a little more knowledgable. I am not saying that all Fasttrack users are unintelligent, cuz some aren't and they choose to use Fasttrack. Others don't even know anything else exists cept for KaZaa and if they do, they will probably just give up trying new apps, that take a little bit of tweaking. That's all I am trying to say. :D

Listen people, I'm using FastTrack together with whatabig.com and sharethefiles.com, but only when I can't find what I'm looking for on WinMX or BitTorrent.
And FT's the internet's biggest p0rn archive. I don't use MX and BT for that, yet I still get porn... :P
