Does it have the functions that K-Lite has? And it's not the first or best of it's kind if anyone thought so. You should check ouy [url=xnap.sourceforge.net]Xnap. It can acees opennap, gnutella, fasttrack, IRC and a lot more...

the new xnap 3 beta is pretty slick. its buggy right now (duh, its a beta release). when 3.0 final comes out xnap may be the new hawt thing. and this epicea, ill try it out.

Epicea uses the gift daemon to access Fasttrack, and the ml donkey daemon to access the eDonkey and Overnet networks. Interesting. These are also points I thought people should know, along with the ones up the page.
In my experience, the gift daemon does get better fasttrack results, and ml donkey does get very good edonkey results. still seems weird to use both though. it would seem then that this client can also access gnutella, opennap and openft if the propper plug ins are present. the same goes for ml donkey and its capabilities. weeeeiird.

Maybe they were just too lazy to put in the plugins... LOL

Isn't mlDonkey's ed2k daemon a bandwith hog on ed2k servers? I know mlDonkey isn't well liked by meta machine people.

You could just get the fasttrack plugin for eDonkey and have the same results.

@Halo - Xnap runs on Java and is buggy as shit. Plus, correct me if I am wrong, but only the new 3.0 beta version will work with plugins, and I think they discontinued plugins for FastCrap or Edonkey. The only plugins I have seen are LimeWire & Opennap & IRC.

Great another mutli-network disaster.

Allied makes a verygood point, why sue this, the eD2K client has much better support for the eDonkey and Overnet networks, and with the FT plugin, then it mirrors whatthis prgram is trying to do.

Hell, almost all multi-network programs are a leech of some sort. There are a few that provides uploads to all networks, but stil aren't the best implemation. I have never touched a multi-network program besides Shareaza and it was ditched after a few tests. I say stick with the original apps that were created for one specific network.

Hello all!

Any news about epicea???
I can't find out much about it...
...I installed it (epicea 0.15m) and seems to be the easyest of use p2p ever seen, but I can't get it work. After installing I can run it only once because the 2nd time it won't startup anymore  at least for me... I can get many search results, but the download of anything won't start. It is so buggy or what? (...maybe I have to reinstall win xp - my pc is slowing down...)
Anyone tryed it?? Please tell me your experiences about it.

Bye!

Yet tryed...ok not ares, but filecroc - almost the same thing. It was a litle slow (movie dl 4kb/s) and I couldn't get much search results (ok - 50 users with the same file, but couldn't download from more than 4 or 5 at once - different settings didnt affect that...)
With epicea I can get much more results, but what can I do if I can't get it work. Anyway, I'm not looking for a easy of use p2p client with all the teletubbies shit in, I'm looking for that one, with whic I can get many search results and also decent download speeds!
Since now I tried sharezza, filecroc and many new bittorent clients (about speed - nothing can compete with azureus)... I will NOT try edonkey or emule - too slow for my nerves (checked out at a friend)... couldn't get to work mldonkey and epicea... now i'm using azureus (realy good) and strongDC++ (best of dc++)... epicea is that kind of client whic I miss in my "collection"

So... any news about epicea???

I think that Xolox is something like Epicea "reloaded"... it has multinetwork support, is based on MLdonkey and it has even the same startup crash bug :D  :D
I installed it (xolox) an run it... pretty fast downloading (40 - 100kb/s) - this is just my first impression, because I could't have a chanse of a second one :D ...the sturtup crash bug was back :D  ...just like at epicea

This thread remained quiet for over 2 months, it is a dead subject. Use it as reference and not to invoke future conversations. Some may think it is a new program when looking back it is in reality old.
