This is nice. Kazaa Lite, Kazaa and Fasttrack all merged into 1 forum. 8)

...now if we can just get rid of the imesh section, I'll have nothing to bitch about.

I voted Yes, But then I thought it'd be nicer if you just redirected them to http://members.verizon.net/~vze29k6v/you.html

Why would you want to delete it altogether?

I'd say if you were going to do anything, i'd merge them, but deleting is a little silly, for those who are looking or need help regarding FastTrack would have to go elsewhere.

Removing FT/KaZaA forum from slyck will be just like removing hair from a pretty blonde. How will blonde look like without hair?

Bald

But I think it was combined into one. Nothing was deleted right?

Nothing was deleted, no.

I think the merge was needed, but I don't see any reason to completely remove FT from the forums. People who are still using FT/Kazaa (for whatever reason) still come here (and probably will continue to for some time yet), so I think the forum should remain for now so that we may enlighten those poor unfortunate souls when they come here asking for help with FT/Kazaa.

I think the necessity of the kazaa ft forums is represented by its still huge population.

Furthermore these forums could convince people to try other, better, safer, more resourcefull networks, such as gnuttela or ED2k. Also people should try to only download big files (movies, albums, series) via bittorrent and use the other networks for mp3 and rare albums.

FT is nice and old school but i only here complaints about unable to connect after new install. And if 75 percent (i read it somewhere here on slyck) is poluted with viri and bogus wich must be on users computers it does say something about the level of integration of these users in p2p filesharing..

Forums in wich people despise, barf on, shit on, etc, kazaa/ft hopefully will be argument for people to leave ft for what it is and move on to more sophisticated networks

Personally, as much as Shareaza is not the greatest network (by far) out there, I found it easiest to convert people off of Fast Track onto the client. I'll never forget how I was at someones house and he complained that Fast Track isn't so great because he couldn't find something. I told him to try Shareaza. After a lot of whining and complaining from him, I finally got him to try it:

1. Took a minute to get him to figure out how to press 'connect'
2. Got him to perform a search
3. watched him in awe at how many results he got.
4. Heard, "Dude! This thing is SWEET!"

Kinda funny that way. Anything to get him and others off the horrible Fast Track network really. Try and get them to learn BitTorrent? Forget it. Yeah, there are exceptions (I was one of them) but many can't wrap their head around .torrent files and trackers. Try to get them to use ED2K? Ha! They just fail miserbly at trying to understand the servers, etc. Get them on Shareaza first, then let them go at it for a week or two, then get them onto more complicated networks like BitTorrent, ed2k, and if your lucky, NewsGroups. Seems to be the easiest way to do things (at least from my end of things)

Just because nobody is posting in that forum doesn't mean that there aren't lots of people reading the existing posts. I think it's worth keeping it, even if it only serves the purpose of providing new visitors with information - hopefully informing them that they are using the wrong network!

I have to agree. A lot of people seem to read the FT-forum, and with the Sharman-RIAA settlement the FastTrack Network as well as the Kazaa software is bound to undergo tremendous change in the future.

Kazzaa and Fastrack are bad certainly, but they are still used by a lot of people, we can't just deny an important part of the P2P world because it sucks
