Okey, FT/kazaa forum can be here untill they "kill" the client, then slyck would maby change it to Fasttrack/Kazaa Lite forum. And why does slyck have a iMesh forum? Its a paid serivce thats sux...and the older versions can't connect to the imesh network, only to gnutella but that shit is so bad, the search results was like 100 songs on Em!nem, and the speed was slower than eMule  Btw, i tried kazaa lite k++ today and it didn't connect, and so did kazaa 2.7(i think) i used ofcourse the "kazaa lite adware/spyware free setup"

The reason iMesh has a forum is because its a filesharing network. This is a filesharing site. Simple as that i guess.

ok, this thread is drifting towards surreal.

p2p_g, legal and illegal depends on the country you're in.

also, newsgroups aren't illegal; circumventing copyright laws is... and is not supported by this site, which supports circulation of information, free access to culture, exchange and relaxing of copyright laws regarding creative works, but NOT disregarding the law. newsgroups are a great instrument for cultural exchange and information flow, which is why slyck discusses them. slyck does not support the because it is also a way for circumventing the law, but because they are a fundamental part of the file-sharing world.

finally, you may or may not remember that imesh has not always been a paid service for music; it used to connecto to FT... it was once even worse than Kazaa regarding spyware and adware... today, it's still well-known and many people, unaware, come along looking for information on imesh (my own sister still insists on using imesh, and there is no way to get her to stop, once a month, when I go home, I spend hours fixing the mess).

in fact, among the many biannual discussions on this issue, one inclduded the idea of merging kazaa and imesh into one forum. that never took off, and now we can be fully satisfied with ray's and tom's decision I think.

but how does that relate to the original question again?

kazaa is old and obsolete.

the people who still use it are clueless fools.

Neither really belongs on slyck does it?

The only reason people want this section deleted is out of spite/because FT sux/Because Kazza is a cash grabbing evil client.

Now I to agree with that, but thats my own preference, we can't just ignore a major part of the filesharing world because it is a horrible way to share files. This section should only die once FT is well and truley dead (not just kazza), and the network hasn't died yet, so it still deserves a place in Slyck

and P2P_G try searching for a different string other than Em!nem to evaluate a network, i mean some people might take the libity of using the correct spelling on other networks

Oh FFS Dima, ask an admin via a PM, not by reviving an old thread.

I agree with lax. It would have been better to discuss it in PM with a mod/admin as opposed to resurrecting an old thread.
