As far as fake files are concerned, i have found more fakes on gnutella than kazaa.

The only limitation i have found in kazaa is that it is very poor in searching games. I dont think that kazaa supports iso format. Well it is good for old stuff , great for music and excellent for porn.

R u sick? Gnutella has no fake(on bearshare) BT is only good to download big files! FT has 75% fake files!

Well P2P_G has said that there is no fake on gnutella.

Can i ask you why are you so sure of that.

Anyways you can go to http://bitzi.com/stat/bitprints_judge_100 and see the results of 100 most recent bitprint judgements and everytime you will see that there will be atleast 20 fakes out of 100.

That's mean 20% gnutella network is polluted with fakes.

Though Kazaa is in a league of its own when it comes to pure uselessness, every public network out there has its fair share of fake files knocking about on its network. Whether they're a problem is down to whether the user can count to 10 or not.

i totally agreed with Tom. No network is safe. And kazaa undoubtedly has more fakes than any other network.

There are fakes but not so much as in FT. I think that there is only -1% fakes. On FT there is 80% i think ;)

I've been trying to get a certain Canadian comedy show and can only find all the episodes on BT.
It's gonna take forever, slow speeds and a 15GB torrent and one 3.42 torrent.
In a last ditch effor to find it, I tried opentFT through KCeasy for the first time.
Got porn, thats it, all fakes.
Maybe if I DL large amounts of pr0n, some of the fakes might be what I'm looking for.

I also experienced similar thing as The Red1.
I was looking for a porn movie "[edited for compliance with Slyck.com Forum Rules. Please read them before posting again. Slyck. is no an appropriate place for discussing copyright violation. Thanks, 2p.] I was using kazaa then and it did not find the movie then. Then one day i downloaded [a] movie and it actually turned out to be [another]. I really got lucky then. It was a nice fake for me.

I know there's a lot of young people who post on Slyck, but I think adeel is the youngest.

I would say he's like 11.

Speak for yourself dude........

Kazaa is now outdated and its just not worth the effort to try and make it good again after previous attempts like k-lite and subsequent followings.

if u want a program like kazaa use ares dude

There are a lot more files on gnutella and it is much faster than Ares. If you want to use a program like kazaa but dont want fakes/spyware/adware/r*aa try BearShare Lite ;) http://www.bearshare.com/lite =) i just "hate" Limewire.

KazaA should be taken out in to the back yard and shot, put it out of its misery, then every smart filesharer should move away from gnutella which will be the new FT ive been watching this unfold recently, increasingly more and more fakes appearing on Gnutella, Its happening already

Amen to that. Personally I started out with irc then napster next morpheus and then kazaa. I won't bore anyone with where I went after that though.

I can remember back in the day there was a point when morpheus was great, but that was back before kazaa and certainly before kazaa lite.

Will all of the fakes and problems kazaa has it is a wonder how it still manages to stick around.

Even now I think most of the fasttrack clients are not kazaa, they are kazaa lite or something else. That says that even most fasttrack users have moved past the original client.

The statement that kazaa needs to be revolutionized is sort of true. Though I do not see why at this point they just don't make it opensource and thus open it to such renovating. There are of course other much better fasttrack client alternatives for users these days.

Still it would be better to just develop a new client and network to replace fasttrack, edonkey2000, gnutella and even bittorrent than to make better clients for the existing bad networks.
