Windows XP: Blubster clean stuck at splash screen

Postby green1074 » Wed Jun 30, 2004 7:56 am

I've installed this program before on numerous occassions, and on different pc's..this is the first time I'm seeing this. I had it on ME, I uinstalled ME and installed XP, not expecting to have the same problem..but apparently I was wrong.

Can someone help me out?

Perhaps you have a dodgy GFX card. Try using a different one.
[code:1]char str[20];
scanf("%19s", &str);
if (!strcmpi(str, "Hello, world!"))
printf("Hello, programmer.\n");[/code:1]

It's probably due to a missing .ocx file. This is quite common when installing Blubster Clean. You best bet would be to download and install Piolet. As this won't intall any crapware, if you opt out of it in the installer.
Then after installation, you can uninstall Pioplet, and the .ocx files should stay, leaving Blubster Clean to run freely.

Thank you very much for your suggestion, installing and then uninstalling Piolet worked.

No problem, I had the same problem when I first used Blubster Clean.
Personally I use Piolet for connecting to mp2p now, even though it does contain the ad-banenr, it's not that intrusive.
Anyway, glad I could help...

Maybe someone could 'Sticky' this thread for future reference. Lots of people who try Clean Blubster for the first time complain about this then give up not knowing the problem.

Both Piolet (the newest version), and blubster clean are freezing when they start up. I'm on XP and I tried the trick with installing and uninstalling Piolet, Blubster still freezes.
