God knows I might have to...unless I can clean it up and people conduct themselves within the guidelines of the FORUM RULES.

I shudder to think when the article on this comes out.

Anyway, moving on...

Its not bad, not much has changed either, just the same as Blubster ...

I guess because it's only used for music, i see no need to use it, i guess this is the same reason i never used Blubster.

I'd say LimeWire, Morpheus, BearShare ... etc work out better then this since they support all file types.

I thought remembered 2 or 3 years ago Pablo said that MP2P was gonna support all file types. Whatever happened to that :?:

I remember being told 4 + years ago that a fix for the connection issues where pretty much all worked out but just not added yet. But what Pablo says and what happens are very different things. So far this 'new' client is about as cool as rockitnet. Oh wait that was lame.

I gave Manolito a try...

Basically I found it to be exactly the same as Piolet/Blubster, except for a few minor, unrelated-to-network/downloads changes. Those being, new splash screen, new button pictures, an advertisement for buying the Super version, and an ad-bar.

The only network-related changes I see are 1) updating network stats (unlike the constant 251,000 number as seen in Piolet), 2) stats meter in the settings.

People are complaining about the ad-bar and the popups. I am not complaining because 1) the ad-bar isn't even functional, its just a white box that is just white and 2) the only popup is homade, asking you to support the development of the software. I haven't seen any promotional adverts yet.

The Super version just looks like another Limewire-scam...well not necessarily a scam, but a waste.
Upgrades for a year? Seeing as how old versions of MP2P software works, this is an absolutely worthless addition.
CD Burning? WinXP comes with a free burning software built in, thank you very much.
Super Search results? Yeah I really believe that.
Super download speeds? Yeah I really believe that.
No banners or ads? Well yeah, if the only ad is to buy your software I can see no ads...lol.

Currently, I dont see any advantages over using Piolet 1.8.3 beta. But it at least is good to see this software base is still in development.

Personally, P2P_G has all the right to be a fanboy about the network. I personally believe that the MP2P network is better for music. The reason that the Limewire/Cabos network gets a lot more pub for downloads is because its 3,000,000 to 250,000 userbase. If you gave MP2P even 1,000,000 users it would be an awesome network just because of how its built. Its meant for music...

cool, nice to see some progress again, i realy thought this thing was dead :D hehe but i'm not going to try it, pro version? sounds a bit strange to me, i can remember the day (i already was on this network when blub 1.2.3 was the newest client) when pablo said that he would never sell copies of his software or ad spyware, adware ... hm there r better alternatives out there, ... from what i've heard the manolito client has no new features at all, so we shall i use it? blubster lite does everything as well :D

Yeah...they need some money i think, but they maby will remove the pop-up to buy the super-version in the next version, send a letter to them that you dont wanna pop-ups ;) This network could kill gnutella and fasttrack if it had more users and files online, the speeds are super i think ;) the downloads starts imeadetly :) For what do you use Fasttrack and gnutella? MP3's ;) and the mp2p rox when its comes to mp3's the only problem is that there aren't many people online, it it would have like over 1 million it could be the best network 4 downloading mp3's(not 4 rare mp3's, use soulseek 4 that)

Sorry for my bad english :!:

yep, I love MP2P myself. Im quite curious how pablo got all the UDP layers working seeing as you can use TCP OR UDP while on the network. Yet the network still seems to stay together. Interesting.. but I'd be amazed if he got the file xfers working via UDP (packet ordering would be a hassle).

But I like the network so far. Small and cozy, it could use a bit more people.

I wonder how well it would scale if there where more people? I already suspect your search results are not not showing a very large % of the total network.

Correct, the search results per client only have a hop count of about 7 on the network, so you only scale about 1,000 nodes at best, usually several hundred.

just do it
