Postby Chewyfood » Sun Jul 24, 2005 12:00 am

Its like everytime i check the slyck stats, or this webpage: http://app1.mp2p.net/netstatus/, the numbers never change.

Am i delirious?

You'll find that the MP2P network has a kind of 'fixed' user rate, you might say. On the subject of you being ''delirious'' well... I can recomend a good doctor if you want?

I've been complaining about that number for ages here, but to signof removal. I believe MP2P number of simultaneous users to be 10K-30K range, no more. The stats are computed artificially and are "delirious"
Multinetwork apps are good for making every network they connect to less efficient. I think I hate them ;)

still 251,137 users...

i think slyck needs to get rid of MP2P stats even though the network is still fully existent.

Um...slyck is reporting 219,963 users.

That website I listed in my first post still reports 251,137. Piolet 1.8.3 client also lists 251,137.

Where are you getting this 219,963 number?

Nice. To be honest I was getting ready to nuke MP2P from our stats, but seems like this will do just fine!

I ment the user with that name. He seems to know quite a bit about mp2p and likes to promote it. I thought maybe it was an old friend of mine using a different name then the one I know him by, but that doesn't seem to be the case. mp2p is a pretty good network for quick mp3 singles, but it lacks any new development these days.

What??? mp2p has less than 20 000 users at any time. They use a stat generator. Remove it from slyck page please, it gives little creditibility...

I think that mp2p is the fastest network to download music :) If you download a song on bearshare and it have 5 sourches it takes 1 h to download it :O hehe on piolet if an song have 1 sourch it downloads in 1 to 2 minutes :)

sorry my english is soo bad :(

Mp2p seems decent enough. If it allows full albums downloads, I would use it. I dont listen to much singles.

_Mp2p_: if there are only 1642 results for 50 cents for all the network, there are probably less than 2 000 users....

BTW mp2p clients don't run with firewall, with router or anything so most users don't see appeal. There is NO way there are more than 30 000 hosts.

Also development has been dead for two years over piolet 1.05... Pablo is not there anymore, there is no marketing and the network is worse than many alternatives, meaning mp2p is dying slowly.

Sorry for your fanboy heart.
