Hi guys,

I have read several topics on people not being able to connect to piolet (says connecting forever), but each time it was due to a firewall or a router. I disabled my firewall and I have no router, but I still can't connect. I am using a DSL connection and Windows XP.

Please someone help me...

Might be down to your ISP - Have you tried using different ports?

BTW, it's not a good idea to run your PC without a firewall! Make sure you remember to re-enable afterwards.

Thanks for the fast answer HouseCrowd.

The thing is I also use eDonkey and it works,
so I suppose it is not about my ISP.

You say using different ports...how and where would I do that?

Any idea would be appreciated.

Sorry, I am no expert at this, but I really, really want to use Piolet.

Thanks

In Piolet's settings, under 'connection' you can change the port used, you can also try telling it to 'use port 80'. Which version of Piolet are you using?
and Windows XP.
sounds like Window's firewall to the rescue once again. Did you happen to turn this off too?

That's a very old version, and could be the reason.

Upgrade to the latest version, then try again
