Part of me wants to tell you to "get a life" for spending so much time on compiling these lists and flame you to hell and back, possibly insulting B-ham as a whole.

Then there's the other part of me... He sez "big up and respec'". Oh yeah. Big time.

I'm doing this for 3 main reasons

1) To spread the dance music vibe world wide (especially Drum and Bass, of course)
2) To encourage everyone I can not to download any RIAA shit, thus avoiding the pain of crap music and costly lawsuits
3) I have no life
I know what you're thinking, punk. You're thinking, 'Did he use six superfluous adjectives or only five?' To tell the truth I forgot myself in all this excitement - but as I deal in English, the most powerful language in the world with subtle nuances that may blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' Well do you punk?

Pop, Dip & Spin DJ Mixes

Part 1> Going deep. At icy Twlight, a slow wind-up of moody Chicago house dub mixes, leading to electro and Detroit anthems. Futuristic sounds from Mr. Fingers escape to a Distant Planet, pre-dawn "house is a feeling" from Ron Trent, and Dopplereffekt's debut cut.
Right-click to download (79 min = 72 mb)

Part 2> lush midtempo diversions glide towards faster and brighter techno tones. soundtrack [313] makes an appearance, 66 degrees is apparently the magic latitude, and phylyps trak ii gets a facelift. Right-click to download (80 min = 73 mb)

Oh yeah, I'll eventually get to my last minute tweaking and uploading of a song I did up. Was destracted today... watching my friends get themselves plastered, I make up for lost ground by ridiculing them  Fun times

Edit: Oh yeah, Scratch, are you still adding DJs to the list? Perhapse you could add Brian Damage to the list as well. :) The guys gone into different genres, so I'm not sure how to classify him precisely :(

Scratch, you wouldn't happen to know where I can get Scooter or NeXuS-like techno? And I mean techno, not trance, not house, just techno.

(NeXuS is an indie artist on Jamendo, the only one I've found that suits my musical taste)

Scooter's genre is Happy Hardcore (although he is imo - very commercial). So we go off the commercial track (of course) and try some similar stuff.

I like Cap10's music, but that other one, I'm not too sure about it... Don't really fancy it too much.

Recently stumbled onto some really good stuff not added on the list:

Dream Electric - combines electric guitars and trance music. :)

It was released onto the ED2K network (instantly 25kb/s download rate, so it's also a fast download on there)

Hash links can be found here.

It's actually well done IMO. Worth checking out :D

http://www.bt.etree.org : torrents, ftp, http
http://www.futhurnet.org : gnutella-based network

Both sites deal in trade-friendly music, such as Phish, The Grateful Dead, Yonder Mountain String Band, Dave Matthews Band, etc. You will find mostly lossless audio (SHN/FLAC, etc) on bt.etree and you can find lossless/lossy audio recordings and video recordings of shows on Furthernet.

A couple years ago I found some banjo player's site that actually had something called Heavy Metal Banjo. The dude put some guitar pickups in a banjo. It was some strange stuff... but I lost the link!

btw: Thanks for all these great free music links! It goes to prove that most artists dont mind giving away a few mp3s here and there, as long as it promotes their music I guess.

There is a lot of free & legal music on download.com as well. Check out their music link here: http://music.download.com/2001-1_32-0.html
All free and clear with NO RIAA LAWSUITS!!
