Upload Sites

Lets make a list of sites that allow the uploads of big files. 5<
There's probabaly a thread like this somewhere. But I havn't seen one recently and I think the quality of sites has gone up over the last few months.
No image uploading sites. Those are easy to find and usually don't allow the mp3 or exe extension.
I didn't list any reg required sites cause they suck. But if you know a really good one, post it.

threads like this one should be a sticky or added to the guides.

I like the idea of a guide. But while making my first post, I was sorting through my book marks of upload sites. Most were dead. The server costs to run these things is often too much.

I could either way on the sticky. Too many sticky's are icky. Yet this is useful info.

Maybe a new forum section and sticky it there. One devoted to sites that allow file uploads. Uploads like the ones in this thread, plus image hosting sites. Merge Peer2Mail with it and let it serve as a forum of other email services and programs.

"WWW Sharing"

Storing files is illegal isn't it?

by LxBeast
No. It depends on the content you're storing. :P

I'm sure that every site says no copywritten files somewhere in their terms of services. But they can't/won't check every file.
The **AA won't go after these sites. They're terrorists, they only go after big "shock and awe" targets.

hey, allied, got some time on you hands? it would be great if you could edit the first post, that way, even if the thread gets longer, all the links are in that one post, like in your graveyard...

whaddya think?

It would be easier to read, and easier to check for doubles.

I don't want another career thread. I already spend an unhealthy amount of time here.

That site is pretty good. I downloaded a large archive of undisclosed content from it once using a link passed to me from a friend. The only drawback is the ads - waaay too much of them. And there's a mandatory 45 second delay (probably to force you to view ads) between loading the page and starting the download.

My favorite (for hosting my files) is:

myFileHut.com
Storage: 250MB, upgrade to 1 GB for $14.99/year
Max Size: 20MB/file
Bandwidth: 1GB/week for the first 2 weeks, 10GB/month thereafter, $9.99/10GB/month bandwidth upgrade
Hotlinking and Streaming: Yes
Retention: Unlimited
Few ads and no popups.

I use the free service only.

If an admin is watching,

What about renaming the Peer2Mail section "Email and WWW Sharing"?

That way upload sites, image sites, Peer2Mail and the gmail drive would all have a proper place.
