A fair few of the torrent sites on the list appear to be dead:

http://torrents.tfr.org/ isn't really a torrent site: it now just redirects to the pirate bay.

http://www.ratsheaven.com seems to have been suspended: it redirects to http://srv1.webb-hotellet.com/suspended.page/ although I don't understand whichever language that's in, it looks like the site's been taken down by its host.

http://www.freewebs.com/bittorrentsite/Home.htm has been suspended by freewebs.
http://www.justaste.nl/trader/torrents.php also gives an "account suspended" page.

http://torrentz.com/ says that it has been taken down for "personal reasons".

http://www.torrentstop.com/ is now a lokitorrent - style MP@@ page.

EDIT: please add http://www.snarf-it.org to the public torrents list.

Ok i not sure if i should update this list anymore as i suspect the MPAA especially are using this list to summarily send ceist and desist orders to all that are on it, with quite a few sites closing, should i not update this any more?

I believe **AA can find everything without your list.

I don’t mean that they have never looked at, but they are not lawyers in their suits who trying to find BitTorrent sites; on the contrary, they hire some of the most experience (file-sharing) users (as well as some of the best crackers, hackers etc) to protect their interests. Some of them refuse to follow, but some others...

Yotoshi.com / myBitTorrent.com Now offering Free Hosting

If you know someone who is in need of our help pelase
forward this to them.

Over the past several months the Bittorrent community
has become fractured. Unless those of us more
experienced, weathered admins start working together
rather than against each other there will not be a
community left. Several of us have decided to work
together and use our resources to support others in
need of hosting, knowledge, resources, whatever.
Watcher, Rex, DarkCreature, Subashr and myself would
like to invite anyone interested in our offer to
contact us. We are not asking for anytihng in return
other than cooperation in helping others who join our
group. We are offering free hosting, a free tracker
server, access to our database of stats and torrents,
assistances with building your sites, advice about
promotions, help with getting advertising so you are
at least covering your costs among other things. We
can provide new projects with virtual domains (i.e.
yoursite.convinitorrent.com, yoursite.convinifile.com,
yoursite.torrent.jp, yoursite.mybittorrent.com,
yoursite.yotoshi.com....) or if you have a domain you
are welcome to park it on one of our servers.
This is to build a community, there is no room for
greed or selfishness. If you are willing to share
your knowledge even larger sites are welcome
regardless of your status.
Also for those of you who are interested we are
offeirng free bog hosting and forum hosting as well.
All community based projects are welcome.
Sincerely,
TyrantBuilt

I have been thinking that about the entire Slyck website.

They don't have to go looking for anything. They just come here to slyck's and read what is going on.

While back I posted some message about "Why are TV torrents illegal since I can watch them for free?".

About 3 or 4 days later, there is a news story on Yahoo about how the studios are going to setup a place to download TV shows for $1 or $2. Then a barrage of news stories about how it is illegal to download TV shows.

They don't need investigators to find trackers and sites. They just come here.

They don't have to even come here. All they have do to is use Google and the search term Bit Torrent.

@ Happeh, I agree, I'm sure lame journos browse for stories here.

In WWII road signs in the UK were turned around & generally misplaced to confuse the Germans... could try that - throw in the occasional spoof 'new file-sharing app' article. There'd be drawbacks tho....

I also notice very strangely, that bt-gm.com seems to be missing. Our peers numbers might not bee so high since we lost youceff as partner, and suprnova shut down, but it is one of the few sites, with no membership, no logging at all, and only high-quality releases.
