As the Pirate bay blog makes clear the future of bit torrent file share is the words DHT and PEX (Distributed Hash Tracking & Peer Exchange). Just about every client supports them and have done since 2006. Even though many of you are not aware of the fact DHT and PEX have been returning many more peers and seeds to your client than the public or private trackers you have been putting on your seeding torrents.

Please from now on do not make new torrents with public or private trackers, they are all going to go down sooner than later. When you first make your torrent your client will offer a choice something like this:

1. Use an External Tracker?
2. Use the built in Tracker?

Instead of option one and entering in the url of your fav. external tracker use option 2 which is in effect DHT/PEX and then the magnet links on all index sites will work with your torrent which you and all who join your swarm will track In effect all 24 million bit torrent users will become trackers and impossible for the RIAA and others to close down. As a community it is up to us to educate and pass on new ways to keep the networks going and help sites like the Pirate Bay remain legal. For those who insist on private torrents you can still password protect your uploads.

if you want to privately share then instead of using torrent why not use ftp and only share to select friends?
