I don't know if the creator will read this or not.

But WinMX 4 seriously need Interface improvement.

Areslite is a good example ( in the screen shot ).

Please.... Without the bloat of a AV Player...

"winmx" and "4" belong in the same sentence only if you are talking about v3.54

I dont believe the design and layout is their main priority :-)

I like the design. Classic, and not KaZaA/Arse/eMule-ish (which are good things).

I agree with the design, which is not bad, but the features of the interface are very bad : impossible to sort by name, by size, etc... in the transfer window.
This could be very useful, and surely not very difficult to add in the code
The refreshing of the windows (in a search window, particulary or in the chatroom list) is really boring
As the chat feature seems very important, because a release was done with this, no hope to see something good before 10 years or more
Anotehr very useful feature which is not present in WinMX, but exists with emule, and seems not require a 6000 GHz processor :
a file which was previously DL could appear with a specific color in a search/alternate files....
Perhaps this will be done, in a 3.56 beta 4967 version, in the next century

i have to agree, winmx's interface is ugly, but the client works! hm it would be cool if the developer would add support for skins or at least change the gui a bit but that's not necessary ... ah and i wouldn't be that sure that there will be a 4.0 version hehe

Why don't you email and tell him your opinions?
betatest at windowsmultiplex dot commertial
(or betatest at WinMX dot com)

i dont think anyone has ever recieved a response trying to contact frontcode via email... they do read the emails though

And the reason that windows has a standard interface that applies to most programs is to make it easier to use them, because things appear in the same places and look the same in all programs... its only recently that some programmers decided to say good bye to common sense and start messinng about with interfaces that just waste system resources (they working for CPU manufacturers?) and make things harder to find... i've never heard of anyone not being able to find a buttom/whatever in WinMX, so the interface must be more than suitable (obviously excluding settings where things could be labeled a bit better)

I don't see any reason for a dolled-up interface. Find your song, hit download, leave, come back, close up and then do whatever...play, burn or mix.
And for goodness sake's, it's free. Let's not push it.

Once I got over Shareaza...I stopped caring about the damn gui...if you can use it and get what you want, then be happy! Staring at the computer screen too long is bad for you anyways. :D

i dont think anyone got a response in the form of an email, but during the 3.52 beta tests i found a reasonably serious bug, it was fixed in the next beta release... so i'm going to assume someone read my email :-D

i have been talking to a few plp and thay all agree that its time for mx to have a new face lift thay like the idea of robomx easyer for the newbi to see who is who ie: gold for addmin blue for mods
and allso the arther parts to it aswell, we all agree that mx looks old and very gray looking its needs to go with the times and look forward to new things added instead of a plain jane exe program

How about the SoulSeek Gui? That is one of the thightest GUIs I ever saw. Or even the KCeasy one? Shareza has too many stuff going on, it's cluttered up. All Kazaa related don't even have multisearch etc.

Okay, I know, I know, all you snobs consider yourselfs too good for soulseek for some reason ... oh yeah ... ya can't get 200 KB/s on soulseek.
But the GUI is good.

well see it starts when you were born

i just got a call from the doctor who delivered you, and he said that they finally found your brain

it somehow got wedged between the wall boards, and they picked it up in a recent remodeling operation

it's a little dusty, but it might work if properly installed
