Is there a WinMX version that works for Linux OS?

Glad to see there's another Linux user out there!

Anyway, I found a couple hints out there:

First, searching Sourceforge.net came up with LinMX: The WinMX for Linux and other POSTIX-compliant operating systems. However, apparently on that page the group hasn't released any files.

Second, there is a post on this forum with HaloFan@WinMXFan mentioning LinMX as the Linux alternative to WinMX.

So finally, I found the project page at http://linmx.sourceforge.net talking about the project, but sadly, I could not find any binaries. Here's a quote:
"LinMX will be a free, open source file-sharing program that will be used to share files with other people using LinMX or the most well-known WinMX."
Sounds like the future tense to me. If anyone has any links to some binaries or alternative projects, help both of us out (because I would like the client also).

However, I may add that there is currently a Linux client for OpenNap:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/twoget/
http://sourceforge.net/projects/xnap/

work on 'LinMX' has stopped; this happened a long, long time ago. There is a bundle you can download off of WinMX that has the files and whatnot needed to run winMX on WiNE or something like that.
here is a link to something that may help if you run into some problems: look at what coreyfro said
if you have access to winMX on a windows machine; try these HASHes out or do a search for 'linux' and look for a file w/ a name like: 'winMX for linux.zip'
HASH>443123dd7a88f2344ca72371cf45c1df-3757272

ps, xnap is a great prog; even if you don't get winMX working, xnap should get you a lot of the rare music/files that winMX is known for. : )
