The best place to patch your MX is not http://www.winmxgroup.com as sumfuka would note. That site and the site of the other "fix" only give you one option and a very slanted view of the benefits and caveats of both. The best place to go is a neutral territory site that offers all current fixes for you to try on your own and see which works better.

Isnt that snips site?
how can that be neutral territory when he is part of the pie team? I agree on everyone needs to be neutral but to say that a member of eaither team is neutral is a little misleading.

Widdle, what exactly does the http://winmxgroup.com/ site do or say that you find so biased? It is, to me, just one of many methods of tackling the problem of getting users reconnected with a minimum of hassle. I don't give a shit about 'this side' and 'that side'; I simply chose to recommend that particular method because: (a) It is very simple for a user to implement, (b) handles tasks that users may otherwise find difficult and confusing to maintain manually (the blocking of 'bad' addresses), and (c) contains the necessary client that charismeincalif requires in order to get back online.

You're already showing signs of bias yourself as to what YOU consider 'neutral' by dismissing my views in exchange for your own. How about you, instead, offer the user some alternative solutions than what I have recommended without your own bias thrown in as to what 'the best place to patch' is?

by tm,
The next-generation WinMX is not dead yet. Now that the WinMX-compatible client WinZO is open-source, this project has the potential to eventually become the equivalent of the next "4.0" release.

Its main drawback is that see-sharp and dot-net are not popular among the open-source crowd.

I like WinMx( http://winmxgroup.com ) more than gnutella now, there are not many users on this network, it needs to grow more so it will have rare mp3s ;)
