What are the chances of WinMX being the RIAA's next target?

If I were them I'd go after Gnutella.

ED2K's servers would ban any RIAA computer, so that's a dead end.

But polluting the Gnutella network would be as effective as the poisioning of Fasttrack. Killing Limewire, Bearshare, 50% of Gnucleus and 33% of Shareaza.

Fasttrack was attacked by spoofing companys who flooded it with fake files.
A spoofing company could easily take the Shareaza source code and flood bothG1 and G2 at the same time. Plus pose an occasional thread to ED2K.
Allied's Review:
Recommended: LimeWire | Ares | Shareaza | eMule | KCeasy
Not Recommended: Morpheus | Kazaa | eDonkey2000 | Manolito | iMesh

How safe is it to use Soulseek right now? (besides "as safe as any other network")

Soulseek is too small for anyone to care about it, but doesn't it use a single central server? It would be relatively easy to shut the entire network down, rather than pursuing individual users - you're probably fairly safe as a user, but the server owners'd better worry.
