This is exactly what I needed. I almost gave up on WinMX due to the fakes, your information has brought me back to it.

Thank you.

Download impossible

Postby RickyB » Tue Jul 19, 2005 7:27 pm

Hello there all.
Is it just me or is it a general problem ?....I have been unable to download any files from WinMx for the longest while now. A search turns up multiple duplications from the same user and neither link works. Anyone know if there is a problem with 3.53 which I have been using for years?
People still download from me though!!

Hey RickyB
Um its not just you no, the flooding is being carried out on several different p2p applications, and unfortunatly WinMX is no different.

The good news is its just a matter of knowing the tricks..

Give the icon in my signature a click and look for Avoiding Fakes...
They are all important but pay special attention to 4) on that section..

Uuurghh....I don't think winmx is dead or will ever die..the growing number of n00bs will keep it goin, Winmx is great 4 mp3z..but in my case not 4 mpegz(movies)...Ohh the cues blahhh. There are so many users with incomplete movies(some don't even constitute a fraction). There also should be special code capabilities to vote spammers 50 users vote carries hmmm.Yeah, i've had my share of phony files and viruses/trojans that have wiped my shared folders:looking bemused:.And chatrooms 80% of them sux(full of boot happy admins) :!: :P :?: ...all in all i still will use winmx 4 mp3z ...a 9 outta 10

The network and community won't die till people leave it. The program might crash though I doubt they actually die! The development team is dead! I doubt you'll hear from them as far as this is concerned, they have moved on!
