iMesh/FastTrack history

Been reviewing my KaZaA/FastTrack/iMesh/decentralized network history.

According to this article, FastTrack and Kazaa were released in March 2001.

This article on Morpheus supports that.

But this article says iMesh was first released in 1999/

So was iMesh a client for a different network at some point? Or is this another case of misinformed wiki users?

iMesh had their own network at first. Then they came out with a new version of the program that was so bloated that they started losing users. Then suddenly they joined the FastTrack network.

Thanks napho.

Was the iMesh network centralized or decentralized?

If it was decentralized, I think it would've been the first decentralized network. Predating Gnutella by a year.

According to above, iMesh was a centralized network. Joined to FastTrack in 2002 for access to a decentralized network.

All of it before my time though.

At what version/date did iMesh ditch FastTrack in favor of GnucDNA?
