Emule 0.48a and Windows Services Problem

Postby lastsaves » Tue Oct 09, 2007 12:40 pm

Hi,
could anyone tell me which Windows Services eMule (0.48a) needs to work properly?
Why I ask?
I tried to improve safety of my PC and disabled some Windows Services using some manual on site concerning PC tuning.
I also used XPAntispy, to disable some of these.
I know, I should not try to repair what is not broken, but I did it. Shame on me, I know.
Now, I cannot connect to any emule server, although Kadmelia works fine.
All ports are forwarded correctly, that is not a problem.
Also DC++ and Torrent work fine, so I do not know why eMule does not work.
Can anyone help?
Thanks a lot.

Do you get a LowID on the servers?

If you can't connect at all, I suggest getting static list from a server white list and connecting that way (if you havn't done this already)

LowID is a different matter though.

Maybe you should come over here to the emule support forum.

The forum stickies, faqs and the online help should answer many of your questions.
Especially the issue of a clean server list is explained in detail, since it is a rather current problem.

And concerning the system services you disabled, maybe a list of the still active services would be helpful.

If you can't even give it away for free, how do you expect to sell it, stupid ?

emule does not depend on any windows services. The problem is firewalls/routers and your server list.
