Spyware servers?

Postby zbeast » Sat Apr 07, 2007 10:29 pm

Have you ever seen these?

If your using emule and type use the file Type "Any" and search for a file that returns none or a few search results. I searched for the file "qqqzzzqqq"
You'll see the above listed files returned as "Valid" hits for the file your looking for.

If you don't already know don't download these files.

The "xxxxxx" is the name of the file your looking for automatically appended to these spyware filled files.

Any one know you owns these servers?
Any Idea what country these servers are in?
As soon as I get my test machine back up and running.
I'm going to download these guys and see what ip's they are coming from.

Maybe someone should post a text file saying not to download these files (using the same text appending method). That's what people do to warn about fakes. I've always seen those files and just assumed they were junk based on their names and size.

I downloaded one of these quite some time ago on one of my test computers just to check it out. Appeared to me file came from Silicon Valley, good ole USA. Can't be sure though. Had to restore system using a backup after all was said and done. Screwed up system somethin terrable.
