video preview

Postby John Stallone » Tue Sep 19, 2006 10:06 am

sorry about the all caps subject rule before
I have reread all the forum rules and will comply.

I transfered video files from donkey.
They are downloading fine.
However, when I right click some allow a preview option and they play fine, some don't even havethe preview option highlighted.

I downloaded "Premule" as an alternate option, but have no clue how to work it.

any help would be great

Thanks

If I'm not mistaken, you can't preview any videos of which the first and last chunk is still missing. If you absolutely need to be able to preview something as soon as possible, you should check the option "try to download preview chunks first" under "file" preferences.

Maybe there are more advanced ways to view something even when the first and last chunks are missing - like maybe Premule - but I can't help you with that as I have no need for them...

Yes, you need to have the first and last chunks to be able to preview it. Also, in eMule under Options >Files you can choose the player you wish to use. VLC is good for previewing.
