...and you thought eMule's slow...

It would be in the wrong section if I posted it in the thread I was talking about this screencap, so I posted it here instead. What you see below is a single download that hit my download cap. It took about 1 second for it to reach this speed. There were no other active downloads, just that one.

...and yes, every upload you see in the upload box is perfectly legal (all of it CC licensed to be precise)

Image

The reason I capped it at this speed is because if it was any faster, it would bring my browsing speed down to a crawl. The file basically downloads faster then you can take a dump.

This download is also perfectly legal (CC licensed content)

The hash link is here if you are interested:

Enjoy.

Edit: Oh yeah, and this screen cap was taken all of a couple minutes ago.

How many servers are on your list? 17.0M user count?

I have a static list and let it update however the default update goes. I've ignored the usercount ages ago.

That wasn't the point. I'm sure 95 files downloading at the same time can total 95kb/s easily, but that's not very fast at 1kb/s each. That was some of the criticism on another thread on the ED2K, so I wanted to prove that a fast download on a single file isn't non-existent on the network.

I find that hilarious....especially when someone tries to point out ONE file going at a good clip and the rest going about like you would expect. Emule IS slow! PERIOD!

It gets the files downloaded, but it IS slow! That is just a fact.

It is kind of like a mule in real life, once you get it going, it will work. But at it's OWN pace. It is not going to go any faster just because you want it to.....same is true with emule....it all depends on who you connect to.

But it does have some of the rarest content on the net. That is why people use it....not for speed but for the content.

Nah, you misunderstood my post. I meant 3 files each doing 95KB/s for a total of 275KB/s.

I can get over 100kB/s if many users has that file :) and btw, have KAD on to get more searches! :D

and you have like 17 million users on your list :/ you got many fake servers! Get a clean serverlist!

That's SUPER SLOW, if i got that speed on BT i would be extremly upset. My average speed on 1 BT DL is about 400-500 KB/s.

That's the main reason I don't like eMule, but there is a lot of rare content to be found on that network if need be.
:)

i noticed that you are donwloading 4 files. the one you show is going ok, and the others fall into the typical emule download catagory => *waiting*

Actually, two were completed and the other one you wouldn't have a hope to find on UseNet or BitTorrent.

If you read my original post, you would know that this is the down cap I set in eMule. Any faster and my browsing speed would be compromised. Not everyone has a stupidly quick internet connection after all. :P

I wonder how fast would be your bt speed downloading 20 torrents at the same time, as i usually have more than that with emule. No problem at all, no stress to my HD.
On a 512KB dsl connetion getting 45KBs. And furthermore, finding the files i want.

Fastest on BitTorrent was 120KB/s, but my browsing speed was subpar to a 28.8k modum. On UseNet, it's roughly the same speed. Essentially, I can't get a faster speed on my connection if I tried everything else under the digital sun (if there is such a thing).
