Well, Kad is good for things you know you're looking for. Index sites are great for those 'stumble upon' type things you would never otherwise have heard of. I don't think the Kad or global search can effectively reproduce this 'stumble upon' occurance. It's also a good way for whitelisting if your paranoid of what you download.

That is why indexing sites for the ED2K network should exist. Not downplaying the search though. that thing is very handy if you have a name. :)

My favorite client is eMule-standard, all mods are the same speed - some just organize a bit different.

And I agree with zim above. I use nforce.nl to find the release group and file name, then do a search in the client to find the file.
