Hello to the old-timers

Postby Artie » Tue Sep 09, 2014 10:11 am

Just thought I'd drop in and give a quick hello to anyone who remembers me. I see there have been a lot of postings since I last logged in, which was over 5 years ago. (with a little bit of imagination, you can probably guess why that is, lol). Anyway, what's that Cinderella song? - "The More Things Change, The More They Stay The Same." I guess that's true on here as it is in real life. Still wish I could turn back time and start life where I left off 5 years ago, but of course that could never happen.

I never posted on here as much as some of the old-time regs, but I always enjoyed coming here and interacting with everyone in the p2p community, for better or for worse.

You do realise you'll have to wait another 5 years for a reply, don't you?

Thx for the wb sunny, E-D, HC, Fred. Too bad notbob and zim aren't still here. I always found their critical/cynical postings entertaining.

But a sure sign that one has been away for so long, is when they come back and find out that uTorrent is now supported by ads.

Oh for an old timer, you should know how to get around that :)

In utorrent, go to options, preferences, advanced and in the filter type sponsor and change sponsored_torrent_offer_enabled to false and turn off the sidebar. No more adverts. This does not seem to work however in bittorrent which is essentially the same program.

Or just switch to using Deluge :)

Yeah, qBittorent is pretty good too. It's really all a matter of personal preference of course though. I used to use uTorrent a lot myself, but I've kinda gone off it now.

Good to see ya again Artie and Evil-Dude. :howdy:
In the 60's, people took acid to make the world weird. Now the world is weird and people take Prozac to make it normal.
