 yep. and lovin' it.

saw recently..
The Visitor
http://www.imdb.com/media/rm4096300544/tt0857191

IDK why it's got 8/10 starts on IMDB. I couldn't get through 30 min of it.

They lost me when they showed one of the main characters in a park drumming on the bottom of a bucket like it was music. I was like - what the fuck - come on with your bullshit. obviously they were trying to make the dude some kinda artsy creative rebel who will perform against all odds. well why don't your drill a tiny hole in my head and try to shove a brick in it. c'mon.. seriously. fucking vagrant drumming asshole needs to quit worrying about expressing himself and start worrying about getting a job. So i turned it off.. apprently everyone thinks this movie is the greatest bullshit of all time, but I'd rather sit around at 3am watching infomercials... at least they are working. WAR BUMS!

Basically, it sucked. there should have been much more fighting.. the story was a complete and utter bore. I ended up skipping through the movie to watch the fight at the end.. which was also a let down. big time yawn.

Is this the first martial arts movie you ever watched? They all suck. There just about the fighting. Except for the Karate Kid movies.

lol. no sweetie, not all marial arts movies are bad. I just watched

Lone Wolf and Cub: Sword of Vengeance (1972)
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0068815/

10/10 the 6 lone wolf and cub movies are the hardest and most badass martial arts movies of all time. if you are even a moderate fan of samurai movies, this is one series that you have to see before you die.

Fortunately his 1 yr old son Daigoro chose the sword, but I know damn well Ogami would have killed him if he hadn't!!

Lone wolf and Cub are awesome...I have all of them on DVD. Best samurai series ever. Chinese kung-fu films are sooo different. Some are equally good, but they don't have the depth of character or "ruggedness" that Lone Wolf and the like have. Incidentally, White Heaven in Hell apparently has the highest body count for any single character in any single film. 150 were chopped

high five hypnotoad. w00t. another lone wolf and cub fan.. YES.. my day just got better. I've got the set too.. and have it backed up like 10 times.

Ogami is the ultimate man in every way. One of my favorite parts ..(actually every part is my favorite part) is when the the theives were going to kill the prostetute unless Ogami fucked her right in front of everyone... and come on we all know Ogami could have killed every mother fucker in the room but he didn't.. so he fucks the girl and all the thieves were making fun of him for taking the cowards way out.. but the whore says he wasn't scared at all.. then she tells the thieves to "think about your DICK" lol... can you get it up when you are scared for your life? lmao. classic. ftw

Daigoro kicks ass too.. that baby cart of his is an awesome murdering machine.. ohh I could go on forever.. I Love me some Itto Ogami.

Film: Beverly Hills Chihuahua (2008)
Director: Raja Gosnell
Rating: 2/10

This is currently the number one film for the last 3 weeks.
I have to give Disney this, talk about good timing for a movie release.
they happen to release this film during the 2 months of bad movie releases before the thanks giving holidays.
So I could not help but win some viewers.

It's your standard Disney fare harmless but not good.

ok, zbeast doesn't have the market cornered on watching crap ;)

gangs of the dead: worst zombie movie i've ever seen

live free or die hard: worst die hard by a country mile. it's over, bruce. please stop.

snakes on a plane: ya ya, you told me so

casino royale: worst bond movie ever. i like daniel craig as bond - but this movie is lame.

ok, this one will get me in trouble here, but oh well...

clerks: can i have that 90 minutes of my life back please?

seen a few decent ones too, tho... let's see...

30 days of night and innocent blood: two very different but entertaining vampire flics

dead birds: good ghost story set in the american civil war

the messengers: another good ghost story

vacancy and whispers in the dark: suspense

and lastly:

Fargo
Year: 1996
Director: Joel Coen
Starring: William H. Macy, Frances McDormond, Steve Buscemi

this is a great film for a lot of reasons. i'll give it a 9 out of 10. i'd seen it once before, and decided to watch it again in honor of the upcoming elections here, you betcha! (no, we don't all talk like that :P ) there is one very odd thing about it i didn't notice the first time. the very first thing the movie shows is a screen which says:

THIS IS A TRUE STORY.
The events depicted in this film
took place in Minnesota in 1987.
At the request of the survivors,
the names have been changed.
Out of respect for the dead,
the rest has been told exactly
as it occurred.

ok, fair enough. sounds good. but then, at the end of the credits, it proceeds to say:

The persons and events portrayed in this production are fictitious.
No similarity to actual persons, living or dead,
is intended or should be inferred.

ummmm... i'm sorry, but HUH?

Miss Pettigrew Lives For a Day.

Good flic. I'd say 7.5 /10. Pretty predictiple, but well executed.

Francis McDermont was good as always. Not Fargo good mind you, but very good just the same.........

@ Fred/ always caught that true store part when watching Fargo, but must of missed the last part..... And I've scene it at least a half dozen times :? All I'd venture is that it's a Cohen Bros film, and they are a couple of different cats........

It was always my favorite works by them. Some of their stuff I don't like at all.... Hudsucker Proxi, That one with John Goodman and Tuturo......ect.... The Clooney, Hunt, Tuturo one was OK...... But No Country was a great flic! I need to see it a few more time before I judge whether it better than Fargo though.

 ty for the snopes link, zbeast. i feel  now.

but in light of that, gonna have to mark it down a hair. the crap with mike, the guy who met marge in minneapolis, was weak. considering it wasn't part of their fastidious attention to how it really happened  it had no business being in the story at all.

Film: Roadside Romeo (2008)
Director: Raja Gosnell

Language Hindi English
Rating: 7/10

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Roadside_Romeo

Take your standard Bollywood film, take your standard Disney film.
Mash them together and what do you get? Roadside Romeo.. No I don't speak Hindi...
but it's a easy story to follow as there's English and the acting is very strong.

I have to say it's good, I liked it...

Ironman
8.5/10
Good film, far better than all the recent (non-batman) superhero films. Ive always been a fan of Downey Jr, good to see him come back. Special effects not quite as impressive or abundant as transformers, and no megan fox bending over alot. But the story and acting was far better. Shame Gwyneth Paltrow is still the most boring sexy person in the world...

The Matrix

ya ya ya, i realize i'm the last person on the planet who hadn't seen it :P

weak story line, mediocre acting, horrible production design. i used to think "Silence of the Lambs" was the most overrated movie ever. i have to reconsider that now.

this movie blows. 2.5 out of 10.

I politely disagree with your opinion Fred (other than the bad acting which i agree with fully. Keanu Reeves has only ever had 2 character types. A stoner and a confused person, neither are that good), but most of all its the comment that Silence of the Lambs is the most overrated film of all time. Whats your reasoning for thinking that?
Personally i think its hard to beat Godfather for 'most overrated'.

Film: Braveheart
Comment: A good film. Bit long and as everyone will tell you historically very inaccurate. But then again, all historically accurate films are woefully dull. I watch films to be entertained and watch documentries to learn stuff. I dont expect every film to be as accurate as a documentry.
Also, "FFFRRRRREEEEEEEEDDOOOOOOOMMMMMM" is a great line. 8/10

fair enough, bob. tell u what - assuming i still have that channel for free come wednesday (not sure how long they're gonna last, and i sure won't pay for them :P ) i'll record silence of the lambs and give it another shot. that's something i sure won't ever do with the matrix

for starters, let me say that i'd rate silence of the lambs far higher than the matrix. but the matrix, for all its hype, did not win the best picture oscar. iirc, my main objection to it was the story itself - i find hannibal lector only slightly more real than jason from friday the 13th.

as for the godfather: it's not even close to being my favorite film, but i DO understand why it's rated so highly. while i don't share the fascination many of my countrymen have with la cosa nostra, i realize that for better or worse, it's a part of the cultural fabric of this country (because of hollywood, but that's another thread). what it has going for it are a very well written story, very well directed, and with a boatload of talented acting. if i were to pick any coppola film as an example of overrating, i'd pick apocalypse now - which is kinda odd for me, because one thing i really value in a movie is the soundtrack, and that film's got a great one. but to me, the original joseph conrad story (heart of darkness) was somewhat disappointing to begin with, considering its reputation, and the movie doesn't improve it much.

ps: the only question i had when i dissed the matrix was not if i'd get shit for it - only, how much? :)

I not giving shit, I know people that didn't like it...and I'm well aware that everyone has their tastes in movies.

I was just saying I liked it :P One thing, however...is why I like movies with little plot and lots of guns and explosions, but I'm not a fan of Bond films... I personally think it's the too much attention set around the whole 'Bond girls' thing...I jst don't much see the point of a guy having a relationship with a girl, in the middle of a gunfight :P
