lol. he is overrated. But the book was worse than the movie.. IDK I liked some of the movie.. like when the girl got shot in the parking lot because she kept saying, "lewisssss..." lol.. that was great.

MrFredPFL wrote:he is clearly both fascinated by guns, and yet a total ignorant ass about them as well.

this is true, and on that note, I always cringe when I see a movie where someone is holding a gun with his/her finger on a trigger... especially if it's a trained professional like a cop or someone in the military. it's like come on.. obvious they have never held a real gun

And NO an AK-47 is not the best gun to use if you have to kill "every motherfucker in the room"

To kill everyone in a room, I'd use an uzi.. to kill the neighborhood I'd use my m1a or if I wanted to just keep their heads down I'd use a m14, same deal just with a selector switch for full automatic.. wait anyway.. this is a movie thread...

I just saw the new Tarantino film, Hell Ride.

It was fun to watch. I thought it was going to be a crappy hollywood wannabe blockbuster that Tarantino had loaned his name recognition to in exchange for a producer credit; but it actually had most of the things he is famous for included in it, and some of his favorite actors make appearances. (eg some of the reservoir dog guys)

I actually enjoyed "From Dusk Till Dawn" purely becuase it caught me off guard. I never heard of it before I had watched it, and then it came on. For a Tarantino flick it was pretty good. Never did watch the second one, didn't think it would be worth it, and from what I was told - it wasn't.

from dusk till dawn is a very entertaining film, but it is not specifically a tarantino film, per se. he acts in it, and adapted the screenplay, but did not write the story, and did not direct it.

it contains one of my alltime favorite movie quotes:

Yeah, you are right...it wasn't his 'baby' but he did have a hand in it's production.

I think the last movie I did watch was Blown Away, it was on TV the other day. Interesting movie, for an oldie. Got to watch it again when Tommy Lee Jones was more of a name to me. Man, he sure acted like a psycho in that movie - but he did NOT explode when he got hit by sunlight, it took alot of explosives to do it.

I'd give it about a 5/10, not one I'd watch over and over but one I might suggest somebody may watch.

Standard cookie cutter Disney plot.
Standard direct to dvd release quality.

I hope you didn't actually buy that shit. Watching it is bad enough. It pisses me off how Disney is raping classic movies for sequels. What is Land Before Time up to? 20? :pissedoff:

As for the last movie I watched, oddly enough I can't remember. I've been waiting for a TC/R5 or better release of Dark Night and Indiana Jones 4. I have a screener of Indiana Jones 4 but its FS and I prefer WS. Dark Knight has been out for a month. All the releases of it (the ones listed on VCDQ at least) have been nuked and they're only CAM's and TS's. So what is the MPAA or the movie studio doing to to protect this movie from pirates so well?

Director: Mathieu Kassovitz
Rating: 2/10

I like Vin Diesel, but I dislike this film.
it's bad.. it's like real bad, the film starts out with this stupid tuff guy rap song that's being used to try to
pump you up and make you think this film is going to be bad ass.
Then it stumble, then they pull a tuff guy hook and you thin hmmm ok, this film may get going again then it stumble again. This is all in the first 15 min's then after that the story takes this mind numbing trek plot hole, bad story timing
and stupid nonsensical action sequences. All shot in blur-o-vision to try to cover up how dull they are.

The move has more in your face product placement than I've seen in a long while.
If your thinking about going to see this film save your money.
If you thinking of downloading this film. Save your bandwidth and disk space.

This film stinks!!!

I could have been at an e party, I was going to be good and stay home and hang out with friends and be good and go see a movie... god, I got jipped, it's midnight the party must still be going oh, I'm out of here.

Film: A.I
Director: Speilberg
Comments: I really liked this film. Underrated by imdb users. One of the few child acting performances that didnt annoy me. Yes its quite a long film and far from perfect, but i'd still give this one an 8/10.

Film: You Don't Mess with the Zohan
Director: Dennis Dugan
Rating 6/10 (2008)

This film was funny in parts and I quite enjoyed it and I do quite like Adam Sandler, but it was nothing really special, I also felt it was trying to preach to me a bit which felt a bit toe curling.
The film was nearly two hours long which is fine for some films but not this one.
Not a fantastic film but not awful either.
A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools.

Basically, it sucked. there should have been much more fighting.. the story was a complete and utter bore. I ended up skipping through the movie to watch the fight at the end.. which was also a let down. big time yawn.

Film: 25th Hour
Director: Some guy.
Rating: 8
Comments: A very good film, although i felt it could have done with more of a back story, and some sub-plots could have been expanded more. Good ending though, and any indie film with Ed Norton is guaranteed to be good. Its a shame he has to do the crappy Hollywood movies (red dragon, Italian job) as well. He's one of the most underrated actors around.
