Movie: The Day the earth stood still
Director: Scott Derrickson
Year: 2008 version
Genre: Drama | Sci-Fi | Thriller

it's a 5 out of 10.

I don't really know how to rate this movie.. its a remake of a move classic.
it's more or less the same movie with plot upgrades to make the threat of the killer bot
more of a threat in these day's of J-dams and nukes.
Save your money nothing to see here.

Black Book

For those not into WWII movies, there are some really good nazi sex scenes.

Movie: A Dirty Shame
Director: John Waters
Year: 2004 NC17 version
Genre: Comedy

it's a 8 out of 10.

It's gets that only because it's totally ridiculous.
Make sure you see the NC17 version don't bother you can't see that version.

You have to love a film thats banned in Singapore.
I have to say it's a film of our times with people out to censor everything this film make fun of that.
It came out way back in 2004... today it's a lot more reliant.

Just plain weird ....

Turned it off after about 15 mins.

Might give it another try when I'm drunk enough to understand what's going on ...

speaking of disney...

The Black Hole (1979)

terrible movie. reminded me of "Lost in Space". i bailed on it after watching a little more than half of it. several thumbs down.

and speaking of bad sci-fi movies...

Stargate

i sincerely hope the series is way better than the movie. aside from the striking scenery/sets, this movie is lame. i don't see how it can appeal to anyone older than 10 or so.

Mission to Mars

another lame sci-fi film. not recommended.

Twilight 2008
Movie: Twilight 2008
Director: Catherine Hardwicke
Genre: Drama Fantasy Romance Thriller.
it's a 7 out of 10.
Tagline: When you can live forever what do you live for?

Ok there are people who love this movie and people who hate this movie.
If you were expecting "Lost Boy's" the first movie not the horable second movie,
Twilight is not that film. Look at this movie for what it is. A very simple teen romance movie with
vampires. This it does very well. I hate vampires by the way and I still liked this moive.
Looks like this movie has done well enough that they are doing a second movie this one with werewolfs,
werewolfs is where it's at. :)

I wouldnt say that. Maybe "most improved sequel" it would at least get a nomination. Still for Governator films Predator wins it for me (and gets bonus points for being the only sci-fi to feature 2 current US senators).

Gattaca (1997)
Pretty good film. 7/10

Back to the Future Trilogy

8/10

Was on TV yesterday, they were always good movies...a few issues with some things, but in all a real good watch.

still the best war movie ever, imo - certainly my favorite.

Movie: The Poseidon Adventure

Rating: 5/10

silly film, only redeemed by featuring carol lynley.

Movie: My Favorite Wife
