Where's Everyone From?

Postby HouseCrowd » Fri Oct 17, 2003 6:32 am

Thought it'd be interesting to find out where most of us Slyck visitors live, and from how far and wide around our little blue planet :)

I'm in the UK, where's everyone else?

Apologies in advance if your area is not specifically listed in the poll ...

Where are you from on Long Island? I used to live in Baldwin, where I went to High School, then I moved to Richmond Hill, Queens, and now I live in Kensington, Brooklyn.

A lot of people aren't aware that Brooklyn and Queens are on Long Island.

Brrrrrr, sounds colder than here  Say Hi to the rest of Canada for me, I have some relatives over there :)

You should see a list at the top?? ... select the circle next to it, and click the 'Submit Vote' button.

If you don't see the button, only results, then you're probably blocking cookies. You need to change your cookie settings in IE (Tools > Internet Options > Privacy). You could change it back afterwards if you prefer.

Ah! ... You're right. I assumed the cookie thing was to ensure no-one voted more than once, since you can't vote once you've already voted and you can't vote if cookies are blocked. But yep, just checked, it's a registered/signed in thing :?

Anyway, Hello Canada :D

Well, I'm slipping into the minority with the UK now I guess ... but only 7 ppl so far! C'mon guys ( n gals  ) ! Don't be miserable, it's only a bit of fun, and only takes 2 clicks!!

Well I'm on E2 street between Caton and Albemarle. It's nice to live so close to the train station, though I still manage to show up to work a half hour late each day.

Before moving here my wife and I tried to move to Astoria, but it was too expensive and there was too much demand. People from Manhattan who flee to Brooklyn and Queens only feel comfortable with two places: Park Slope, and Astoria. The rest to them is some kind of unexplored wasteland. No wonder the rents are so high, because you have to compete with ex-Manhattanites who are used to paying $3000 a month for a studio apartment.

Hi UK buddy!! ... that makes a whole 2 of us so far !!!

You need to submit to the poll to make it 2!!! It seems you have to be logged into Slyck to 'vote' in polls though.

It's a cookie thing, you either got 'em or you haven't! :P
