ands&freenet have the most content. As for freenet: w8 for 0.7 which will be available around X-mas. I2P has IIRC less content. Mute-net has the same approach as ants, but is not so advanced and has much less users.
I never tried TOR and GNUNet, so I won't talk about those.
Windows? Blah. Linux? Blah. BSD? Blah.
Just make sure you have a computer licence and I can open your fsckin files.

I remember trying TOR the friggen thing needed a MS Dos command prompt up. I heard it off of Attack of the Show on G4TV (If you have that)

Edit: What client do you recommand from ants? Also like im kinda confused about theses types of program how are they like "anonymous" I mean can my isp see what im downloading? Should I still use a IP blocker? See thats where im confused..

MUTE doesn't have the same approach as ants. As I understand it, data routed through MUTE is typically one-hop, where Ants is two hops to destination. This IS less advanced, but it also means that MUTE is faster, though at a minimal expense of some anonymity. But it's not like you're trading state secrets, and only a little anonymity is really needed.

Ants network itself is far more actively developed than mute network, but mute has 4 different clients that connect to it where ants only has two, with the ants client dubbed "hornet" being basically just a clone of the original ants client.

mute is one hop and has no end to end , this means every node can see the data and read it.

ants has 1-2 hops randomy chosen and end to end encryption, so no isp can read the data packets sent.

mute is less safe and antsp2p.sf.net is much more safe.

I was looking at these anon p2p and the trouble is you might be anon but there are virtually no files to download. For me the best one I have tried is i2p

There is bit torrent over i2p. There is one tracker still running.Though there are not many files.

I am still looking at the others so I will check out jetiants. I uninstalled the ants client since it bogged down my computer and my searches returned nothing. I will have another look since two of you recomend it

right torrent over i2p, but havent got it running, too complicated to configure azureus.
and: torrent is not a p2p search funktion.
it is p2p download but not a p2p application.
jetiants is quite good and file transfer is working, though there are not many users, but it is working excellent Q!

If you can't get Azureus to work, you can try one of the other two bittorrent clients for i2p, namely ports of BitTorrent and Snark. You are right that bittorrent is only a file distribution system and not a file sharing system, but the tracker web pages on i2p gives plenty of search functionality (and MPAA can't bust them). Also, I think the many users of i2phex would take exception to your claim that it doesn't work. It has recently been updated a lot, and has new maintainers.

Finally, AntsP2P and MUTE has inferior anonymity compared to I2P (think: traffic analysis).

How to: Anonymous filesharing with i2phex

Postby Metaframe » Fri Oct 28, 2005 4:59 pm

Having problems with setting up i2phex? If so I would advise to follow the instructions given in the "How to: Anonymous filesharing with i2phex" post over at planet peer.

That website just redirects to the official emule forums. TOR don't want their network being used for p2p, 99% of eMule users don't want it made any slower, so eMule via TOR is pointless. Drop the dead donkey. sorry

i think ants will soon have a connection to emules kademlia network. so the action is steered from there, but for emule and a mod the question is only, if emule should use then tor or i2p.
i2pe-mule or toremule, thats the question.
Just give me reasons, why the one or the other is technically much easier to install, then we search for people, which are interestd in to join the project. and the toremule rpoject exists already.. have to search for the forumsite link, just a moment..

ANts P2P has an option to make direct connections as well as anonymous connections. This means that connections to 2nd gen nets such as emule can be developed.

ANts P2P works, at least for MP3's.

It is great for sharing your huge collection MP3's.

It is quick (as fast as emule sometimes) and has loads of content you can't find on other networks such as the real story behind the 7/7 London transport bombings and underground media of every sort.

I've downloaded loads of music from it.

Best place to download it from is from official site http://antsp2p.sourceforge.net/ NOT the Jetiants site which is a fan site.

You created that tk domain yourself, and now you think it's the official ANtsP2P homepage? It redirects to download.com (after attempting to install dialers to unsuspecting Windows systems), which I hardly think is gwren's project homepage.

You shouldn't always. For example jetiants-tk-user created the i2phex project on sourceforge, to raving protests from the i2phex developers. He's now using it to distribute an old version of the program. For all we know, he may have put malware into it too.

nonsense, the jetiants tk domain is owned by the developer and the sf doamin is used by the developers as well to release code. Hope they do so, because I want to download actual versions as well.

Will you ever stop spreading your lies? Here are some interesting facts concerning you and your i2phex.tk domain which I found on planetpeer:

-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1

Sourceforge support staff:

I'm writing you with regards to fraudulent activity on the part of
the user "im-p2p" [2] as a part of the "i2phex" [2] sourceforge
project. The user, im-p2p, is not related in any way with the
actual I2Phex development effort, which is hosted on I2P's servers
[3][4][5].

As for statements of fact, I am the project manager and lead
developer of I2P, server administrator of the I2Phex servers, and
active developer with commit privilidges to the I2Phex CVS
repository. As the server administrator of the I2Phex servers, I
can tell you that "im-p2p" has not participated in any way with the
actual I2Phex development process. There have been no patches sent,
discussions made, or any contributions of any kind. im-p2p is not
now, and never has been a part of the I2Phex team [6].

Sirup, the I2Phex lead, is not currently available, which is why I
am writing on behalf of the I2Phex team. One may wish to review
sirup's forum post [7] regarding im-p2p's "www.i2phex.tk" site
reiterating that im-p2p has no relation to the I2Phex project.
Since sirup's post, im-p2p has registered the sourceforge project
account and redirected the url there, instead of to the old site
with dialers on it.

I2Phex is licensed under the GPL, so his bringing a copy of the code
to sourceforge is not a DMCA or other copyright violation. However,
his continued misrepresentation of himself as the administrator of
the I2Phex project, as well as declarations that the sourceforge
account [2] as the I2Phex location is fraudulent and harmful to the
real I2Phex project. It is im-p2p's right to fork the project, but
that is not what im-p2p is doing - they are misrepresenting
themselves and the sourceforge account.

I have been in touch with im-p2p through email to try to resolve
this amicably, as has GregorK[8], the lead developer of Phex [9],
which I2Phex is a port of. Instead of providing either Gregor or
myself with the necessary administrative privilidges to remove the
fraudulent material, he has instead added us as users and demanded
certain features be developed before he will consider doing so.

I am seeking remedy under section 18 of SourceForge.net's terms of
service for one of three outcomes to address im-p2p's fraudulent
misrepresentation of his participation in the I2Phex team and of the
I2Phex SourceForge project account itself:
1) removal of the i2phex project, as well as any subsequent
accounts im-p2p registers to continue the fraud.
2) allocation of either myself (as the current I2Phex lead) or
GregorK (as the copyright holder for most of Phex, upon which
I2Phex is based) as the project administrators
3) clear indication on the i2phex account that it is not in any way
related to the I2Phex development project. This however may not
be possible due to the project account's name itself.

I look forward to your response. This email, and all others from me
can be authenticated with the PGP key B3E71C7D, located on the
keyservers or http://dev.i2p.net/~jrandom/.

very interesting.
1. new markets are well fighted (ants versus mute versus i2phex - see the long discussions about end-tp-end)
2. merging processes have always some side effects, hope jrandom and gregor work well with eachother.
3. nice to quote private mails in forum and each forum rumoring the other.

4. See this quotation of the phex developer:

Von: "Gregor Koukkoullis" <gregork@users.sourceforge.net> ins Adressbuch

An: im-p2p@users.sourceforge.net

Kopie: gregork@users.sourceforge.net

Betreff: phex over i2p

Datum: Tue, 01 Nov 2005 07:03:02 -0800

Hello..

I'm the administrator and lead developer of the Phex project.
We are currently working on a plugin to support i2p inside
Phex. This would mean phex and i2phex would end up to be a
single application instead of two distinct apps like it is
currently.

Since this is work in progress and causes significant
changes to the Phex code, we like to use the sourceforge
environment for this project.
Therefore I like to kindly ask you if you could hand over
the i2phex project page at sourceforge to the Phex team
(gregork in person) and allow us to use a separate
environment for this work.

Of course you would be very welcome to help us to improve
Phex and i2phex and be part of the team.

Thanks for your support,
Gregor

Metaframe, you were so kind to put planet peer quotations to slyck, would you be so kind to put this slyck quotation to planetpeer as well ?
So i will look it up and then i can see, if you are just throughing mud to stablish your public view or if you are on the topic to find out the truth for justice.

the plans of gregor speak for itself.

thanks
