Discussion of the network that Kazaa, Kazaa Lite, Grokster and iMesh connect to

Well, lets see. You guys already have a Kazaa, Kazaa Lite, & iMesh forum here and well Grokster is pretty much dead. I think it would be better to totally wipe out this 'forum' or merge it with another. There are other proggies that access the FastCrap network but they are usually submitted under new releases or 'others'. I actually don't know how much work it would take to merge some of these topics (if you wanted to) with lets say, Kazaa, but I think it would look better. Again, this is just my opinion.

Anybody else feel the same way! :D

Actually I'd suggest that iMesh, K-Lite and Kazaa are intergrated into the FastTrack forum.
Either that or just ditch iMesh. Kazaa can stay, also, K-Lite is pretty much dead, no one knows if it's still running, who's the official releaser etc. There was a thread about development being discontinued.
In fact, I'm likning that second idea more now...

Grokster is suppose to be ditching Fasttrack in favour of MP2P?

Well considering Groksters completely n00b userbase, then it can only be a bad thing if this happens. Hopefully Pablo holds network performance over $$$.

MP2P isn't dead yet. Sure there are alternatives, and personally I use Shareaza to get all I need. But it's still a great resource. And I'm interested to see how these anoymizing features pan out.
Maybe the Grokster dev's (if you can call them that) realised that FT is dying, and thye needed a new netowrk to suck onto.
Clients lie Grokster, Warez and RockItNet are the worst sort. They take existing network, pay the fee to allow connection etc, then make a profit by bundling there half-arsed client with crapware.

Ditch FastTrack

Postby SlyckChuck » Sun Sep 05, 2004 3:59 am

As the headlines stated, it is a good idea for 3 reasons.

1 - fake files

2 - viruses

3 - The main hunting ground for the industry to make lawsuit cases

Any more reasons why or is that good enough? Shortcuts or verified files is still not good enough because of the exposure factor involved on that network. Who really knows if the so called participation number is really accurate or skewed with industry moles? Makes one wonder eh? :idea:

I would agree that some of the forums could be merged but I think some new people who come to ask questions about Kazaa (etc) may become confused if they all were merged under fasttrack. I feel that the average Kazaa user doesnt even know what fasttrack is. lol

Haha, now that is funny!! :lol:

I still think they should either

1) Wipe out 'Fasttrack'

or

2) Merge them all together and stil have the info underneath it for n00bs to know FastCrap is in fact kazaa as they already do:

Err, wouldn't it be easy to do : FastTrack(kazaa, grokster, etc..) in one forum ? I mean, that way it would be quite obvious to the newbs as well..

Yea TDO, I think that is where we are getting at. :wink:

The more I think about it, the more I like the idea to merge all the those shitty clients under one forum. I mean, c'mon, pretty soon no one will ever hear of FastTrack. It's only a matter of time before the n00bs destroy or leech everything from each other and turn it into nothing. (Well, it's pretty much already there. :lol: )

Nah, you guys are just n00bs. The FastTrack network is the best. You get fake mp3's, RIAA, viruses, spyware, adware and more all combined into one program. What more could you guys want? Just look into the light and you'll see Kazaa, IMesh, Grokster, etc.

On a serious note I think it's a good idea to combine them into one. They all use the same network (even though IMesh uses the old FT Network). The way it is now, it would be like having eMule mods having a seperate forum for each one here. Instead they are all combined.

Sounds like a plan. And about KCeasy tm, perhaps a new giFT forum could be made...
[code:1]char str[20];
scanf("%19s", &str);
if (!strcmpi(str, "Hello, world!"))
printf("Hello, programmer.\n");[/code:1]

Solid idea there Ooble.

Also, even though most people here are anti-it. I think either a G2 or Shareaza forum would be good, as it is no longer a gnutella client, in fact, it's g1 perfomrance it very substandard. Could help to kool some gnutella fanboys tempers also, because I'm sure they despise having Sharea lumped in with them.

Well seeing it took me forever to find this damn thread again, since I was an idiot and forgot to just search for the freakin'thing, Is there a better chance of Ray or Tom considering this, if it's here or in the FastCrap forum?

BTW, Who moved my thread dammit, JK!! :lol:

Ditch FastTrack

Postby SlyckChuck » Tue Sep 07, 2004 9:24 pm

It had its usefulness once. Now evolve or be caught unprepared. Many here moved on and I am only assuming that the figures for fastcrap networks are skewed because of industry spies setting traps. Call me a conspiracy freak but what other logic can you state why so many sued are from fastrack?? I mean HELLO????

Shit, before FastCrap got infested by the RIAA propaganda BS & Bots, I saw the network going to hell in a handbasket, mainly because the considerable amount of n00bs unknowingly spreading viruses/trojans/fakes, you name it.

Even if some of them knew they had downloaded a fake, it would take their lazy ass days or months to delete the fu@ker and they would spread the damn thing across the network. Since day 1, I could tell KaZaa would be a GD disaster waiting to happen.

I can't think of any way to defend fasttrack anymore. :? 1 section for Fasttrack Kazaa, and all other fasttrack only clients would be fine.

It's obvious to me that FastTrack is nothing but a cheap government conspiracy to hold back evolution.

The fasttrack network has been an essential step in the evolution of p2p's I belive.

Out with the old. In with the new. I think the time of Fasttrack has passed its climax and conclusion. It'll exist like a zombie, wandering around eating the brains of n00bs. But it doesn't deserve 3 sections.
