phpBB registration is broken. Go through Register -> Age Select -> I agree and you wind up at

General Error

Usenet news server guide asks you to log in even when logged in. Log in first, then visit

Login and Register from News Server Guide doesn't work

(click login link or register link, dead link)

It was suggested that this is probably because the NSG was a "bolted on" addition to phpBB, so all the NSG issues are probably related.

User mentioned that mailto:ray@slyck.com was bouncing. The contact page doesn't have a contact web form. There doesn't appear to be a way to send messages unless you register, so we agreed to forward this on.

Thank you!

I love the new layout Ray and the whole new look. For me it's so new looking as i haven't even been dropping in here for a while to look about.
I'll look around the forums, post a bit and read through this thread to see what others think.

Looking damn good guys! :)

Happy days

How come you still have to do some tag editing when you want a link to be a word instead of just a link? Nowhere else do I have to do that. I know its a little thing but its annoying.

i'm not sure what you mean here. if you highlight text, you can then click the url button and the highlighted text is enclosed by the url tags. of course, you still have to paste the actual url itself into the tag. are you saying other software handles this differently? if so, how?

Ideally youd want to to display something like [ url=copy link here] your highlighted text[ /url ], because otherwise im sure some people wont know how to display a tidy link like this.
Not a big deal, but still, every little helps.

Getting the following while trying to use the News Server Rating Guide

[phpBB Debug] PHP Notice: in file /home/slyckco/public_html/ns.php on line 89: mysql_num_rows(): supplied argument is not a valid MySQL result resource
Your rating and comments are now in queue for approval, thank you.

Well I'll be damned. I never knew about that. Did that work with the old forums too?

At most other forums I go to, you click on the URL button then a message box comes up that asks you for the URL, then after that another one that asks you for the text. You've never seen that? Image

i don't get out much ;)

what forum software are these other forums running?

and ya, afaik the old forums behaved that way too ;)

ps: as a general rule, the behavior i described applies to any bbcode button - hilite text and then click the button to apply that tag to the hilited text :)
