It looks good but the images for the newest 4 stories are too big.

surprised me too!!

I feel like I witnessed history. :D

Me three, but instead of being surprised, I just thought my browser wasn't rendering the HTML correctly, lol

I liked the old Slyck layout, but I'm sure I'll get used to the new one. It seems more... uhh... slick.

I'd take credit for all of Slyck's 2.0 goodness, but then Ray would do horrible things to me. So no, I can't take credit for his hard work. I wouldn't taking the credit, but I can't cause I didn't do all the coding and whatnot.

One feature I certainly miss is the ability to go straight to the last page of a popular thread.

hmmm i'd say u found a bug there. this was originally posted in the lounge. i figured it was more appropriate here, and moved it - i guess the main page hasn't noticed it was moved yet ;)

Agreed, where as a good spammer could get to the last page of a side tracked thread and click reply in just 2 clicks before, now it takes 4. thats double the clicks, which is just not right!

Or footage of ray a month ago after the 7,000th joke about slyck 2.0 never coming to town.

Out of interest, how do the stats look in browser usage? I guess here firefox rules the roast, although i know many who browse at work would be using IE.

the main page is loading a lot snappier for me now. I dunno if that has to do with the browser. earlier at work I was using IE and now FF at home. maybe its just a time of day/traffic issue. :?

that being said I'm still not liking the tabs

only diff I see is the missing view new in IE, and the rounded boxes on the right side. Useing my laptop, otherwise wouldn't be able to compare.

makes me wonder how it'll look on Moz 1.3.1 that I still run in my home office.....

Wow

I like what's happened, a facelift is always good to try out and I guess this is just a try out; awaiting more responses from Slyck users
So it's going to change over the course of the week or perhaps more. That's good too as there are parts that need to be adapted, removed or added. I'm going to play around on the new look before passing more comments.

One man's poor quality image is anothers fast loading time.

Maybe we should have a poll

1mb each or 30K? ;)
I know what you're thinking, punk. You're thinking, 'Did he use six superfluous adjectives or only five?' To tell the truth I forgot myself in all this excitement - but as I deal in English, the most powerful language in the world with subtle nuances that may blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' Well do you punk?

Personally I like the overall look.
The tabbed forum links will take getting used to, but does keep the page cleaner.

However...

The 'naked' appearance of the images for latest stories kinda stands out. Perhaps bordering the images (or shadowing) ?

I thought maybe some kind of divider running across the top of the page, above new story images and below Slyck logo & the adverts. Just to break the page up a bit.
Maybe even run the grey underline on the Slyck logo all the way across ?

Really picky, but the difference in height of the P2P and Tech news boxes looks a little amateurish - I know its from the scrolling of some headings in it, but would look better if both were the same.

This is a very nice lay out. The best looking P2P site hands down. Good job whoever.

Nice! Great layout and I like the tabs.

This isn't fully Slyck 2.0 though I hope. I'm still looking for some basic features like hiding avatars and signatures.
