I really like this forum a lot, but I recon it could be better with a quick reply mod
http://www.phpbb.com/phpBB/viewtopic.ph ... uick+reply
as a more extreme approach you could move to SMF

I personally hate quick reply mods. They waste space at the bottom of the page and people tend to think less about what they write if it's just right there at the bottom.

Quick reply mods can be good I think.

Or better still move over to vBulletin.

Quick replies make it easier for people to spam the forum or make shit posts.

vBulletin... I've seen a couple forums like that. In my experience with using them, they are usually cluttered, over-complicated, and cause users (especially non-Windows users) problems (I.E. PM pop-up doesn't show up, etc.) Plus I find that vBulletin uses more processing power to load.

Well yes, it does have a lot of features and they can seem a little complicated to a person who has never used vBulletin before. Not really for a novice admin who wants to run a site using it who is used to using boards like phpBB. he would feel daughted by vBulletins admin section in comparison. And yes, vBulletin does use more server resorces than other forums like phpBB. But keep in mind that there are many many more features in vBulletin by default that it uses, Sso it will use more server resourses than the likes of phpBB will has very few extra features without adding hacks and mods. Keep in mind though that features in vBulletin can be turned off. You don't have to use them if you don't want too.
